An older slang for money, still understood (from Hindi/Gujarati 'chap' for stamp, implying stamped coin). Now mostly replaced by ganji/doe, but used in some contexts or older songs.

"Chapaa imeisha (The money is finished)"
Swahili slang for money (chapaa originally means printing press, but by extension currency notes). Common in older slang usage: 'sina chapaa' = I have no money.
