A township slang term for cash (some say it comes from a Nguni word). "I need nyuku" simply means "I need money." It's used similarly to chankura or zaka in casual speech.
"We can't go to the club tonight; no nyuku. (English, meaning "We can't go to the club tonight; there's no money.")"

Another Tsotsitaal term for money, often meaning big money or wads of cash. These slang terms often come in and out of fashion but nyuku is recognized in many parts of SA as referring to bucks.
"He pulled out nyuku from his pocket like it was nothing – that's how we knew he scored a huge deal. (Meaning: He pulled out a large amount of cash from his pocket casually – that's how we realized he had made a lot of money from a deal.)"
