TOP DEFINITION
Literally "on my porch" (from Afrikaans), but used to indicate something is right at your doorstep or nearby. People use "stoep" (veranda) in casual talk about being at home or just outside the house, enjoying the day.
"Sunday morning I'll be on my stoep with a coffee, reading the paper. If you're in the neighborhood, come join me – I'll be relaxing right here at home."
