A popular African social media term for a young woman who is glamorous and flaunts a lavish lifestyle (often funded by admirers or 'blessers'). A slay queen is known for 'slaying' (looking fabulous) and is often associated with dating rich men and spending on luxury.

"All dem slay queens for Instagram dey use the same vacation picture from Dubai – person sabi say na one big man sponsor them. (Translation: All those glamorous girls on Instagram are using the same 'vacation' picture from Dubai – you can tell that some rich man sponsored them.)"

A term popular in SA (and across Africa) for a young woman who flaunts a lavish lifestyle on social media without a clear income source. Often implies she's funded by blessers or sponsors. A slay queen 'slays' (looks fabulous) and is all about designer items and Instagram photos.

"That slay queen posted five new wig and handbag combos this week – someone must be financing her. (Meaning: That high-class social media girl posted five new wig-and-handbag combinations this week – someone must be providing the money for her lifestyle.)"
