TOP DEFINITION
A nickname for the R10 note (in older township slang). The old brown R10 note was sometimes called a tiger, and half of that (R5) "half tiger." Though less common now, older generations still understand it.
"Back then a tiger could buy you a meal; now R10 is nothing. (English, meaning "Back then R10 could buy a meal; now it's nothing.")"
