To go into a trance or be possessed (from Kimbundu, often about catching the spirit). Youth might use it jokingly if someone zones out. Usage: Tava xinguilado na aula – nem ouvi a professora entrar. (I was zoned out in class – I didn’t even hear the teacher come in.)
